Purses for Sale

Birthday Gift for my sister Rachel

SOLD - I really liked this one. I did the straps differently. I liked the way this turned out.
My First bag

I started making purses a few years back when I was in the singles ward. Last year I made one for each of my sisters and mother for their birthdays. I think its fun. I made a few more in the last few days and I know some of you have asked for pictures of them so here you go.

The Capri Sun bag was a gift to me from my friend Amber Heywood. I'm sure she would love to show anyone how to make one of these awesome bags.

Mine are the perfect size for a couple books. I've used mine for scriptures to carry at church. I haven't perfected a pocket on the inside yet so for now they are just an open purse. They are reversible. These last ones I just bought some of the 1/4 pieces from Joanns. I could custom make one for you if you get me the pieces. I need 3 different 1/4 pieces. One for the inside and two for the outside, sides and bottom. and 3/4 yards of iron on interfacing to make the bag hold itself up. Unless you use heavier fabric then you won't need the interfacing. If you buy the materials I would do it just for the time it takes for $12.00.

I'm selling these bottom three for $20.00 if anyone is interested in them.

This one has a short strap. Also different then what I've done in the past but its a really nice length for a hand bag.

What kind of car are you!

I'm a Mazda RX-8!

You're sporty, yet practical, and you have a style of your own. You like to have fun, and you like to bring friends along for the ride, but when it comes time for everyday chores, you're willing to do your part.

New found love

Since my baby has been sick I've had to come up with some ways that soothe her. I've found that she really likes me to sing and hum to her. I really like singing You are my Sunshine, I am a Child of God, I hum O My Father, and We just watched Rigaletto this evening and now I've been singing the end song Music Boxes. I think she really likes to hear me sing. Another thing I have done tonight is that I prayed out load with her as if she was saying it as well as some of my one thoughts like asking for help to be a good mother and to know how to teach her the things that I know are true. It was a wonderful to see how her mood changed from being so awake and alive to something I would say was a peace. She got ready for bed. I gave her some milk and then put her in her crib and she went to sleep. I know I said in my last post I've been singing to her but tonight it was a little different. Something peaceful about how she was put to bed tonight.

Her cold is getting better. just a little bit of a runny nose and now its a cough. Matthew thinks the baby gave him a cold too. And I thought my husband was immune... Maybe because he loved on her to much... he he There's no such thing as so much love on a baby.

A shout out to all my friends I haven't seen or talked to in awhile. I miss you all and hope everything is going your way! Love ya!

Pictures will be in my next post for sure. My baby is getting so big. you will all be amazed at how she's grown.

Sick Baby

Kathryn has her first cold.

Its no fun. Runny nose, cough, and not sleeping well. Matt's cousin that lives around the corner from us is a doctor so we had him check her out and he says its just an upper respiratory infection meaning a cold in lamans terms. Also meaning there is nothing we can give her. It just has to run its course.

Kathryn cried more yesterday then she has her entire life. That is how I knew something was wrong other then the runny nose. She never cries and if she does its just because I went to long between feeding her.

Its so sad. I feel helpless. I don't like that she doesn't like to lay down or she can't get a good nap and that she can't breathe good. I do know she likes it when I walk with her upright and sing little songs to her. I think her favorite is going to be 'You are my Sunshine'. I need to look up the second verse cause I always make that verse up. I also hum "I'm a Child of God" and "Danny Boy". She likes the softness of it.

I should be asleep because she is back to sleep but I had to put down how sad I am that she has a cold. Her first one and I don't like it one bit.

If anyone has an suggestions as to what they have done with their babies when they had colds I'd like to know. My cousin gave us their baby menthol, humidifier, and some stuff to put on her nose so that when I have to wipe it it won't get so red and sore.

Anyway I had to get this down for remembrance sake. I'll go get is bed now. I hope she sleeps longer then 3 hours. She had two 30 min naps yesterday and has now slept from 10:30 to 12:30 and I just got her back to sleep at 1:15 so i hope she can last another few hours. My poor baby.

The Fix Up

Ok so I said I would post pictures of what we had to do with granny's house before we could move in. So here it goes.

This is the old Oven

We put in new light fixtures.

New Carpet - Notice the awfull green in one room and a dirty blue with golden diamonds in the other.

Bathroom Cabinet

Painted all the walls.

Depopcorned the ceiling.

Retexture the ceiling and walls in some rooms.

Redrywall the front entry - the wallpaper that was on the walls was fuzzy green paisley. not something I was really fond of.
The new front entry wall.
Lucky for us my brother in law knows how to drywall.

We had to dissinfect everything!!!
I'm glad that that is over. I hope to never have to do as much work on a house as we did on grannys. The house is great now. It fits our little family well.

Memories

I want to see who reads my blog that actaully has memories of me as I've checked at wholooks at my website and tons are people doing searchs and somehow my blog is one of the top 10 sites listed.

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments.

by the way this a post by Heather. I'm on Matts computer and am lazy and did not sign out and sign back in as me.

4th of July

We had a great 4th of July. Thanks to Rachel who hosted the festivities at her house. We met there at around 10:30 to go swimming and at 1:00 we went back to their house for a barbecue. It was fun.

Matt actually got in the water. I tried to get pictures of him in the water but he didn't want any evidence that he was. He actually hates swimming but I told him I'd like him to at least try. I got really sunburned and Kathryn got a little pink but not bad. I did douse her in sun screen. Why I didn't do my self I do not know.

We didn't go out to see any fireworks that night. I did go out our front door and could see a few peeking out from behind some tree's. So I did see some. I"m not totally unpatriotic.

I actually love this holiday. I love honoring the men who have died preserving our freedom. I went to a conference this last week and the owner of Mona Vie spoke about a incident when he was speaking to a group of people where he had all who had or who were serving in any part of the armed services to stand up so that they could honor them. He said after the meeting he had one of the men come to him that was an older gentleman that had served in the 2nd world war say that that had been the nicest thing anyone had done for him since being in the war. I couldn't believe it. The men and women serving our country need our love and support.

Dallin Larsen then challenged everyone in this conference (some few thousand I would guess) that the next time they are in the airport and there is anyone in uniform to ask to buy them lunch or if time does not permit to give them a $20 as an honor to them. I told Matt that I wanted to do that next time we see any one in uniform.

I love the saying "Land of the Free, Home of the Brave" with the next line being We are the Land of the Free as long as we continue being the home of the BRAVE! Lets stand up for what is right in preserving our FREEDOM.

One of my Cousins has been in the military for some 20 years and has been in Germany stationed there for the last 10 or so years. He's back with his family and will be stationed in Texas. We are having a party for him at my moms house this evening. I'm sure he has some wonderful stories to tell. He is one of the best anesthesiologists the military has. He has seen and done some amazing things over in Iraq. I hope to have some good stories to tell after getting to see him again.

Pictures of Kathryn

We started feeding Kathryn Rice cereal a few weeks ago. She's getting good at it. Not nearly as messy as the first time. Or Maybe I'm getting good at feeding her.

We watched Matthew's cousins kids the other day. We made bottle rockets and played games. They love Kathryn. Kisses all around when they come over.
