Tired

I can't believe its been so long since I last posted. I am still planning on telling you all about our San Diego trip and the Sedona trip but some other news has kept me busy as all. We are moving. We're moving into Matt's Grandmothers house by the end of May. The house hasn't had anyone living in it for almost a year and well needless to say it was a disaster. We've been down there working on it for every night for almost two weeks. It needs to paint, carpet, light fixtures, ceiling de popcored. and a throughral cleaning. We are almost down with the ceiling. We have all the paint I hope!! Thanks to my sister Rachel who had a lot of left overs

We tried taking off the wallpaper that was in the entry that was a green paisley from the 70's that was also fuzzy but it was more work and was leaving gashes in the wall so matt had fun pounding out the drywall. It will be a really fun place once its finished. Man this reminds me I should be taking pictures of all this transformation. so you can all see who aweful it was before the change. LIke Jaylee has with their yard and front of the house. that was amazing.

Well Kathryn needs me so this will be all for now.

I miss you all.

The Extra Degree

So its been awhile since I last posted. Seems I've been kind of busy. or I just think I'm busy.

We did make it to our first trip and back with Kathryn without any bumps. She did amazing. next week I will tell her story of our fabulous San Diego trip. She has a lot to say about that trip. ha ha

And tomorrow I head out with two sisters and my mom to a cousins wedding in St George. Just me Kathryn, Rachel, Jessica and Kash and my mom. Its going to be an interesting ride. with two babies and a bunch of girls.

I am apart of a leadership developement system and the last few CD's that I have received are all about keeping your finances in order. So I hope we all get to listen to some of them on the way there and back. We all need to be better with our money and this way we can talk about some of the points they give.

Kathryn had her 2 month appointment last week. The doctor said she was perfect yet again. And she didn't get all fussy after her shots either. I couldn't ask for a more perfect baby. Anyway she is now 10 lbs 7 oz and 22 inches long. She's almost to take over her cousin Kash who is two months older. He had his 4 month and he was only 11 lbs something. Kathryn was in the 50th percentile for her age and Kash is in like the 3rd percentile. He is the cutest baby. Just so little though. If any of you know Jessica check out her blog on my family list for Jessica Nickerson. to see how adorable her baby is.

Kathryn went to sleep tonight at 8 and didn't wake up till 1:30. I just put her down again and I hope she doens't get up until at least 6 or 7. We'll see. I wouldn't mind just getting up one time if she slept that long all the time. She does good either way but I like that she went to sleep earlier then later like she ususally does.

I'll post pictures next week of both these trips. I'd do some now but my camera's batteries have ran out and I don't have more just now.

Kathryn is in a childrens photo shoot tomorrow. I feel so honored that my friend Helen Robson would pick my baby for her shoot. Her work is absolutly amazing. If you ever are in need of a great photographer check her out I have links to her childrens website and her personal blog on my friends list. She is such a wonderful friend I'm so glad that I have been able to get to know her better.

I'd like to also make a quick Happy Belated Birthday to my friend Kenyon Robson. Sorry I missed the fun last weekend. the Party sounded like it was so much fun. I want to wish you a wonderful year ahead with the greatest happiness.

I get emails every day called walk the talk and this last one was about the book 212 degrees. It had a movie that went along with the book. It was awesome. the jist of that book is that to start out water is just hot at 211 degrees and at 212 water boils and with that makes steam and steam can run a huge train. Its the little extra we do each day that makes the difference. It gave examples of olympic games where it was just fraction of seconds that was the difference from the winner and the next in line. So it is the smile we give to the person we walk by . Its the hard work we put in at work when no one is looking. Its the thank you or hug we give that will make the differnce in everyones life. So to end my post I'd like to wish everyone the best in going that extra degree.

And I'll tag everyone to let me know what little thing that they did this week that was probably the best thing for someone else. I want to know what we are all doing to go the extra degree in the world today.

I look forward to seeing some new posts next week on my return.

love you all.

Balloons

So many of you know that Matthew has the wonderful talent of making balloon animals. He's decided to take it up again and to birthday parties.

In college Matt did balloons at resturants and that was enough for him to live and go to school. He had a lot of fun. It got kind of old right around when we got married and is now just sparking up again. He said the other day that "I shouldn't let this talent go to waste". Plus he really likes kids. I think if we could just have 4-5 kids from ages 3-8 he would be in heaven. So he could be a kid with them. He just turned 29 on Wednesday but still feels like he's just a kid.

I took some pictures of some of the things he does. He's going to start to advertise doing parties for $70 for the first hour and $35 for the second and so on. He'll do them mostly just on Saturdays but if you have an evening party he can do those as well after 7.

I'm excited to help him with the parties. I get to go and help keep the kids in line. I've helped him with one other birthday party. He definatly needs help keeping the kids in a line and being patient. I think I need to learn magic tricks to help keep them occupied while he is making the balloons. If anyone knows any and will let me in on the secrets I would love to learn.

Anyway let me know if you would like to book a party! It would be so much fun!!

Baby Blessing

This one is for Helena. I was getting to it but since you have a request in... This one is for you.Grandpa's
Grandma's
We blessed out little girl March 30, 2008 in the Peterson Park Ward. Matthew gave the blessing. It was a wonderful blessing. And I was relieved he didn't change her name on me at the last moment. He was joking that he would. Anyway. The blessing was great. My mom recorded it so I'll be able to write it down to have it for Kathryn when she is older. I'm glad my mom thinks of that sort of thing. It didn't even cross my mind.

My dad and Matt's Dad was in the circle as well as 2 of his brothers Brian and John and my Brothers in Law, Mike, Joshua and Jared. Nathan would have been there but their son Seth was home sick throwing up. I'm glad that my family is so full of priesthood holders.

We had our families stay for the whole block It was fun to have all my nieces and nephews in primary. There was 7 visitors there that day and 6 of the 7 were part of mine and Matthews family. We even had one of Matt's Nieces in our class. It was fun. We only had 2 girls in our class that day and I gave the lesson and they picked on Matthew.

After church I had prepared a Mexican fiesta back at our place. The lunch turned out really good. Its the most people we have ever had in our house. It was so much fun. Stressful trying to get it prepared with so many people waiting but once it was done it was a great time. We took some good pictures as well.

That night after everyone was gone I took more pictures of just Kathryn in her dress and then I took pictures of her in my blessing dress. My Grandma crotchet a little dress for each of her granddaughters. I think this dress will be used for each of my girls if we have any more. My dress had my name on it or I might have just used mine. She was so cute and so good all day. I think she slept through most of church and the lunch afterward. only waking long enough to eat and then go back to sleep. She is such a great baby! I love her to pieces.

I'm so grateful that the Lord has blessed Matthew and I with such an angel child. She really is a blessing in our lives. I'm grateful for the opportunity to raise a child. I am ready for the challenge! But if all our kids are as good as Kathryn, well it might just be the easiest challenge we'll have to face.

Hair

Ok so my little girl has the cutest hair and a lot of it. And I still get people asking if she's not wearing pink if shes a boy. I would think that the pink car seat she's sitting in would set that right but I guess not. I usually don't remember to get one of her many head bands but from now on if she's not wearing pink a head band will go on her head.

Oh my OB gives each of his mommies a little onesie for each of the kids and wants you to send him a pictures of your baby in it to put up on his wall. He has like 10 different ones with cute saying son them. I chose the one I did because of how much hair she does have.

"Daddy does my hair"
"Don't wake me I'll wake you"
"Tax Deduction"
"What goes on at Grandmas Stays at Grandmas"
"Party in my crib 3AM"
"Am I really related to these people"

Those are the ones I remember. It was easy to pick the hair one because of how much hair she actually does have. Its not a slight against matt for not being able to do her hair its just that she has such darling hair anyway.

Here are a couple I can choose from to send to my doctor.

Bowling

For the baby blessing two of Matts brothers were in town and they just love a good rivelry. Golf is a favorite amongst them and so is Bowling. It gives them bragging rights until the next game. Matt is usually really good but I guess its been to long and he's a bit rusty. Our littel team came in last place both games. I admit that I am not the best bowler. Actually I don't think I"ve ever broke 100 before. I still go cause I like to try. Matt has taught me how to curve the ball so when we're not against someone I try doing that which doesn't always work out the way I want it to.

Anyway so we didn't win. I think is older brother Brian won the first game and then his younger brother John won the next. The score doesn't matter to me I was just watching and playing and enjoying the company.

For the first game Kathryn was so good in the sling. I'll tell you what it is quite a different feeling to bowl with a baby in front of you. It was fun to blame how bad I am on that but to no avail I got a better score with her then the second game when i took her out.

Here is her first bowling game. maybe she'll be a champion some day in her own little tykes bowling league.

Working with a Baby

Ok so here is a picture of my little one on our first day of work. She actually was content for a little while just laying on the floor.

Well I've worked 5 days now with Kathryn. Its been pretty easy for the most part. I have my own little room to do all the filing, keep up the books, and just all the little things that my dad has for me to do. If I need to feed her I just close the door. If she gets noisy I just close the door. Its as easy as that. Except that the room jumps like 10 degrees when the door is shut. I need to invest in a fan... I thought it might be harder going to work with her but its really not and my dad seems to be enjoying that she's there. All his clients that come in get to be introduced by my dad as the very proud grandparent. I think my mom is a little jealous that my dad gets to see her more often then she does.

Oh one of my jobs is to get my dads accounting in order. If any one has any good systems for keeping track of recievables and payables starting from scratch I would be ever so grateful. My dad is an Architect so he has billable hours and pay schedules and reimburables and all sorts of stuff like that. As well as paying all his contractors as well.

It is nice to get out of the house once in a while. 3 days a week for 4 hours isn't that bad. just a little extra funds to keep paying off the bills.

One thing that I have found difficult is when I'm feeding her I like to keep working so I hold her with one had and try to keep typing with the other. This makes a really weird strain on my back and neck and gives me a monster headache. I tried using my sling yesterday but she hasnt gotten used to it yet all the time. The next post will have a picture of her in it. She definatly liked that time! Anyway I'm working on new ways to keep working and feed her at the same time. I'll figure something out.
